NIteUI

How to set this up:

Disclaimer: I have only tested this on my SGS2, so not sure how it will look on phones with different resolutions. Also if you want to set a dock in ADW to get the dock the dock image is here.

The PSD file can be found here.

1. Download ADW EX

2. Download multipicture LWP

3. Download these 3 wallpapers. 1 2 3 (you can replace wallpaper 1 with this one if you want it to say music instead of carcast)

4. Set each wallpaper, from 1 through 3 going left to right using multipicture LWP, (set transition to fade) (set to stretch to fill screen)

5. Download minimalistic text widget and desktop visualier

6. Set the homescreen rows and columns to maximum, set widget overlapping and widget stretch to fit grid.

7. Download SIMI Folder widget and setup folders for the game categories (on left homescreen)

8. Place blank minimalistic text widgets on top of where there are icons on the homescreen (eg. over the gmail icon and search bar) and stretch accordingly.

8. Download MIUI clock and set it on the homescreen (stretch for size) also set up whatever widgets you like on the fun and social screens ( I have spotify and word of the day)

9. Use desktop visualiser to set up the apps above the bottom dock.

10. Set the dock background in ADW (settings- theme) to blank, set dock to 5 icons, on the dock set far left two links to launch apps and set this transparent icon as the icon. Set middle to move to default homescreen, and then last two for phone calls. (again using the invisible icon)

11. If you are on a Galaxy S2 go here and flash DARK MIUI theme (works for Villain 2.4) to get the transparent status bar with the information on the left. If you are on another device you can try any theme with a transparent status bar.

If anyone knows how to make this into a zip you can just flash or whatever please email me!!

Enjoy O_o

Would it be possible to change “CarCast” to simply read “Music”?
I’d completely understand if not, but I just figured Music is a much more general item for those of us who don’t use CarCast 🙂

    Thanks, man!
Although the link for it leads the Carcast wallpaper with the stratergy error. Lol.

  5. Would it be possible for you to upload the psd files, for the wallpapers? 🙂

    September 5, 2011 at 8:41 am

    • The PSD are the same as the JPEG, just open them in phtoshop and edit, i accidentally saved them and got rid of the layers 😛

      September 6, 2011 at 10:47 am

      • Damn, would have loved the psd’s. Was thinking about making more pages, but for that to succeed I would need the psd’s with layers in, as you have used a lot of gradient 😛
But I will try just editing the jpg’s 🙂

        September 6, 2011 at 1:11 pm

      • the gradients are constant horizontally thought, so u can copy paste a section above what you want to change to erase it.

There is vertical guides, to help you alligen the text better, Horizontal should not be necessary as you don’t have to move the text up and down 🙂

    Hi !
I’m having difficulties to set the 3 wallpapers : just one appears (the 3rd) and i can’t find this : “set to stretch to fill screen”

    • devin

im having the same issue, just one screen is showing, the third one. Im on an evo 4g if that matters.

      September 9, 2011 at 3:56 pm

      • Make sure wallpaper scrolling is set in ADW settings

        September 9, 2011 at 6:08 pm

  34. Andrew

Could someone create this setup then backup their settings then post them here, I’m having a bit of difficulty with my screens changing and none of the workarounds are working. Thanks

    September 8, 2011 at 2:41 pm

    • i tried, it dosnt work though as there are so many apps

      September 8, 2011 at 3:28 pm

      • Andrew

My only issue is that the wallpaper only scrolls when using ADW Free, but when I set ADW EX as launcher, it doesnt. Go Figure.
Anyways, Really like the setup. Nice work, maybe someone could make it into a standalone launcher.

        September 8, 2011 at 4:43 pm

    • Alamoe

Go into Animation & Effects and make sure wallpaper scrolling is checked. The default settings don’t have it enabled.

      September 9, 2011 at 9:07 am

  35. @Andrew Go to ADW Settings > General Behavior > Animation and Effects and make sure the Wallpaper Scrolling box is checked. Mine was unchecked by default when I installed ADW EX, and would not allow the wallpaper to scroll.

    September 8, 2011 at 6:37 pm

  36. Ben

    F**** hard… no good explication…

Same idea : Save and send Backup for us ?

Make it already as a luncher ?

But the idea is great !

    September 8, 2011 at 8:21 pm

    • I think my step by step guide is about as explicit as I can make it..

      September 9, 2011 at 6:07 pm

  37. @Andrew In order to get it to work with ADW EX I went in and turned off Infinite Scroll (though I don’t think that actually did anything), and then I set it up so that the wallpaper can scroll with the different screens, which was not enabled by default. Once that was done, it worked nicely.

This is pretty nifty, but it wasn’t for me. It’s a pretty cool concept… except for one MAJOR flaw. Landscape mode. LoL!! I opened my keyboard and I was like no!! Since the pictures are Wallpapers and aren’t actually a UI it was disastrous. LoL!! 😛

And I felt limited, until I seen the idea of editing it. But this idea gives me the thought to make one personally for me.

But it’s still pretty cool though. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this as a real UI one day.

BTW, do you call these Pseudo-UI’s or something? LoL!!

How do you create a blank minimalistic text widget?

    September 9, 2011 at 6:55 pm

  46. I absolutely love the look and usability of this setup. I started to set it up on my Droid X and it started slowing down a bit. Went into see the running apps and noticed that three of the apps listed here were taking up about 75mb. This is a bit too intense for me at the moment. Hopefully on my next device I can run a similar setup.

Hi and congratulations for your great customization.

Unfortunately, I dont understand everything. Could you precise what is the original size of each widget (before stretching for size) and for each setting in which menu (widget) it should be done ?

A small video of the use of the interface would be great.

    Thanks in advance

    September 12, 2011 at 10:22 am

    • Place it on the left homescreen for the games categories

  52. Mirko

    6. Set the homescreen rows and columns to maximum, set widget overlapping and widget stretch to fit grid.
Ok,,,but overlapping and widget strech…wher to find that?
    7. Download SIMI Folder widget and setup folders for the game categories (on left homescreen)
How to do that?Sorry but i am new..i mean how to set up folders?

    8. Place blank minimalistic text widgets on top of where there are icons on the homescreen (eg. over the gmail icon and search bar) and stretch accordingly.
    Again..how?
